Exide Technologies launches Solition Telecom: A pioneering energy storage system for modern telecommunications backup

  • Exide Technologies expands its Telecom portfolio with new battery modules based on advanced lithium-ion technology
  • Ideal backup power for Telecom BTS in various grid conditions
  • Smart Battery Management System and safest iron-phosphate cell chemistry create a powerful, reliable, and cost-effective solution

Exide Technologies is proud to introduce Solition Telecom, an advanced lithium-ion-based energy storage system designed to provide reliable backup power for Telecom Base Transceiver Stations (BTS).

This smart solution ensures optimal and consistent performance in stable, poor, and off-grid applications, meeting the critical demands of modern telecom infrastructure.

Outstanding performance and robust reliability – no matter the weather
Designed for either new installations or a replacement for existing lithium-ion or lead-acid batteries, Solition Telecom blends battery modules, a built-in Battery Management System (BMS), and safe Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) LiFePO4 cell chemistry. This combination delivers exceptional reliability, performance, safety, and longevity – even in extreme conditions! Solition Telecom will be available in three different capacities: 100 Ah, 150 Ah, and 200 Ah.

Solition Telecom reduces capital and operational expenses too by offering up to 3,500 cycles, surpassing many alternative lithium-ion technologies while minimizing thermal risks. With its modular and scalable design, up to 15 units can be connected in parallel, enabling flexible configurations tailored to specific energy requirements.

The BMS continuously monitors operations, optimizing performance and extending battery life. It features multi-layered protection against overcharging, over-discharging, and temperature fluctuations. This ensures maximum safety. Remote communication capabilities enable real-time monitoring and preventive maintenance, while a front-panel display and data logging enhance operational insights.

Solition Telecom's compact, rack-mountable modules deliver up to 50% space savings, thanks to their high energy density. With a round-trip efficiency of more than 94 %, the system minimizes energy losses and saves recharging costs during operation. Available in configurations ranging from 100Ah, 150 Ah, and 200 Ah (4,800Wh to 9,600Wh), it operates reliably across a wide temperature range.
