Exide Technologies, a leading global provider of stored electrical energy solutions, will showcase its latest-branded Motion products at the upcoming CeMAT 2016 in Hannover. Its presence will be themed around ‘Powering the World Forward’, with the company demonstrating how its latest battery and charging solutions help customers to significantly improve operating efficiency.
Exide will present Sonnenschein Lithium, which is used today in large distribution centres, Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs), hybrid cruise ships and other demanding applications, helping companies to reduce costs and improve operations. The technology allows forklifts to operate 24/7 on the same battery, with just short bursts of recharging while workers take breaks. With the launch of new 80V Sonnenschein Lithium batteries, large counterbalance forklifts can also now benefit from the technology. Manitou will also showcase Sonnenschein Lithium at CeMAT. The forklift manufacturer will be in the open-air site (GF), and will present the battery integrated into its ME 430 forklift.
An increasing number of companies are making the switch away from internal combustion forklifts, driven by the need to reduce carbon emissions and comply with legislation to restrict nitrogen oxide and soot particle emissions.’s TENSOR battery is at the heart of this trend, offering high power density, increased running times, impressive energy efficiency and highly competitive total cost of ownership, particularly for heavy-duty applications. TENSOR also excels in cold-storage and outdoor environments, vastly outperforming other traction batteries. Used with’s 2100 HP Charger and Z-profile charging regime, the battery supports opportunity charging and can recharge in just 4 hours. The charger is also available in a weatherproof version, which is both temperature-controlled and waterproof, ideal for outdoor environments like airports.
GNB’s hotly anticipated TENSOR xGEL is available for customer field trials. It combines the high performance and fast recharging properties of TENSOR with the zero-maintenance benefits of Sonnenschein Gel. Thus, TENSOR xGEL is a strong match for standard traction batteries across every benchmark, according to Exide, with the additional advantage of being completely maintenance-free. At CeMAT, the company will present a key breakthrough – the battery can now reliably power industrial trucks in two-shift applications. Full recharge in 8 hours and opportunity charging is made possible by using the company’s 2100 HP Charger together with its proprietary X-profile charging regime.
CeMAT will take place in Hannover, Germany from May 31 to June 3, with this year’s event titled ‘Smart Supply Chain Solutions’. Exide will be in Hall 26, Stand D24, in the MOVE & LIFT section. The stand will offer free ‘power ups’ with snacks and refreshments and a secured mobile phone recharging station. Visitors are invited to a stand party with DJ, salsa dancing show, food and drinks on Wednesday, June 1, starting at 6pm.
